Virginia Photographer

Welcome to StudioBuzzBiz my photography website. Photography has been part of my creative nature since a child. My first camera was a 30 foot horizontal copy camera that my dad used in his printing business. I began retouching photos on film using opaque and a brush. My first notable retouching was the creation of a fake drivers license. I was on the original beta testing group for Photoshop in the mid 80's. I owned the first Postcript typesetter (Linotype) on the east coast. Printing and graphics have played a major role in every occupation I have had.

I became more knowledgeable about photography in the US Navy and have incorporated photography into every career I have had over the decades. As an engineering consultant, I photographed worm machine parts and machinery installations for refineries, power plants and machine shops. These photos were most often used for documentation and some showed up in company brochures too.

While selling and developing software for major New York publishers, I lived and worked in NYC (Times Square) for nearly three years. While there a camera was my companion most every weekend. I had the experience of being in NY on 911 and have some great photos of that day.

As a pilot, I took many a photo out the window on trips to Trinidad and Tobago, while flying 3,000 mile trips that began in Atlanta, crossed the lower half of the US and then North to Washington and back to Atlanta.

My companies were always creating promotional materials which also required headshots, people photos and product photos.

In 2002 I finally opened a full-time studio for video and photography in Atlanta where we shot thousands of people for parties, weddings and business. In 2009, I moved to Virginia to be close to my two daughters. After two years of retirement, I missed my studio and buzz associated with photography so I am looking to work with some Virginians now.

I am a new member of the Richmond Rotary and a business consultant for the SCORE organization.

Product photography, fashion photography, architectural photography, journalistic photography and headshots. Oh yes, I love to take party photos for company functions.

For the right money, I will travel but my preferred territory is Charlottesville, Richmond and Northeast Virginia and maybe Virginia Beach in the summer.
