
Times Square and most of lower Manhattan became a near ghost town on 912. Many streets were covered in Paper like snow. Can you imagine only a few cabs and cars on Broadway? Few people were going to work. Bagel Stands left open and full of dust covered bagels. That is what it was like. Most interesting were the 911 T-shirts that hit the streets within a days. I bought one.
There is a photo of 42nd street that is near void of cars, now that is not something that has happen for a hundred years. The whole scene was like taking a tour of a huge movie set. It was hard to believe that the walls and steps and street signs were not fake.
